If you don’t know what I’m talking about, ICA is the one single perfect customer who wants and needs your content, your product or services. This avatar is the person that YOU love to serve.

By having an ICA, you’ll be able to make conscious decisions on the redesign of your site, content creation, products or services improvement and marketing efforts.

When creating your ICA, the goal is to describe this person so well that you can easily step in her shoes. Grab your journal and start with basic info like name, age, physical features, marital status, children, location, annual income, and occupation. Go deeper into your research. Write about her core life beliefs, the blog she follows, conference or events she goes, favourite free-time activities, guilty pleasures and favourite books/music/podcast/shows.

Look at life through her eyes. What set of emotions does she feel when she’s about to buy your product or service? What’s she saying to herself in her head? What specific words and phrases is she using? Write your answers as though you were her, not you.

Once you understand your perfect customer, decision-making will be a breeze, and you’ll create amazing pieces with ease.
