empowering women everywhere

This is
my story

Hey there, I’m Licia Dantas, but in our online circle, I go by the name “WebDev Momma.” Have you ever come across someone who’s part tech-savvy web developer and part creative artist? That’s me! And you know what? I’ve been weaving my web magic with WordPress for over 15 incredible years. Some folks even affectionately dub me the “WordPress Queen,” and I’ve grown quite fond of that title.

My journey? Well, it’s been a mix of triumphs, moments of self-doubt, but always brimming with purpose. Picture this: the mid-’90s, a young, artsy Licia diving headfirst into the world of web design, only to be told, “Hey, this isn’t for you, stick to pretty designs”. Ouch, right? But, instead of being boxed in by such limiting beliefs, I took on the challenge, proving that creativity and technology are an unbeatable combo!

In the early 2000s, I was working as a freelance web designer, collaborating closely with creatives and small business owners. During this time, I also started to actively participate in coaching programs tailored to women, helping me gain deep insights into the marketplace and the unique needs of individuals in these communities. This hands-on experience was invaluable in shaping my understanding of the digital landscape.

To further solidify my knowledge, I decided to pursue a degree in web development, honing my skills and staying at the forefront of industry trends. And in 2016, I took the leap and founded “The Creative Website.” My mission is to empower ambitious women like you to harness the potential of a well-crafted website that can conquer your business goals in fewer clicks.

Beyond creating smart websites, I’m also deeply committed to uplifting our local community through workshops and online courses. I’ve collaborated with organizations like “Alberta Women Entrepreneurs” and “YBB Connect,” where I’ve facilitated workshops and web series, shared valuable insights, and encouraged DIYers to craft websites that truly connect and convert.

Feeling a connection to my story?

Let’s connect if my journey resonates with you and you want to join this adventure. I’m here for you whether you’re ready for a discovery call or simply curious about my services.

Mentor for women in web design

I dream of a world where women
can be anything they want

If you’ve taken the time to scroll down here, you already have a glimpse of who I am and my work with small business owners. But what you might not know is that in 2020, amid the pandemic, I expanded my focus to support women facing unexpected challenges. Many found themselves unable to return to traditional work yet still needed financial stability to provide for their loved ones and maintain a roof over their heads.

In response, I decided to share my expertise in web design, offering a path for these women to embark on new careers from the comfort of their homes. The thought of ushering in a fresh generation of women in the web design and development field fills my heart with joy. Having overcome numerous obstacles to reach where I am today, guiding and supporting other women as they embark on their own journeys is more than just inspiring; it’s a true calling—a way to give back to a community that has consistently had my back. It’s an expression of deep gratitude, paying forward the support I’ve received.

Since 2020, I’ve been diligently crafting my web design mentorship program, and in February 2023, I proudly became a mentor at The Scotiabank Women Initiative® Mentor Program. I’m genuinely thrilled about what the future holds!

If you’re as excited as I am about starting a career in web design, I invite you to learn more about my mentorship program. Together, we can navigate the world of web design, build new skills, and create a brighter future.
